My rule of thumb for my clients is “The only diet that works is the one you can stick with”.

And that’s different for all of us. I know of people who stuff themselves one day, and virtually starve the next (because of lack of hunger, not a conscious decision to starve themselves!), people who eat a high fat diet, a low fat diet, a sugar free diet, a calorie controlled diet……all which work for them.

The diet that works for me is 90% healthy food and 10% not so healthy/junk food — and small portions.
