Thanks TWC, I presumed it was for that reason, but didn’t want to assume. So, can white people use the term “people of colour” to describe every one who isn’t white, or is that not PC?

My thoughts are the same as yours: that the terminology denotes a mixed group of “others”, as if there were no difference between cultures or experiences, we might just as well say white/not white. For that reason I feel uncomfortable using the term.
